In 2000, the
Idaho Horse Council began offering three $1000 scholarships. The
scholarships are awarded to students who have graduated from Idaho High
Schools and are continuing their education in the equine related
studies. The funds are generated through several activities that
occur at the Horse Expo and memorials to the Idaho Horse Council
Scholarship fund.Seventeen students
applied for the 2007-2008 scholarships.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be legal residents
of the State of Idaho.
- Applicants for the year 2008-2009
must graduate or have graduated from an accredited Idaho High
School.
- Applications must be completely
filled out and signed by the applicant. A picture of the applicant
must accompany the application. Pictures and applications become the
property of the Idaho Horse Council and will not be returned.
- No youth that is a member of the
immediate family of an officer, member of the Board of Directors, or
employee of the Idaho Horse Council will be eligible.
- It is to each applicant's advantage
to submit a complete, neat, and informative application because of
the competition and degree of acquired skills of applicants.

- Scholarships will be made available
for graduating high school students and college students who have
graduated from an Idaho High School.
